International contemporary art competition in Provence

Maison Sambin presents the first edition of the Maison Sambin International Art Prize. An event to reveal contemporary art in all its diversity and offer artists international visibility.

The event will take place at Château La Coste, where art, architecture and nature interact in harmony.

About the prize

The aim of this competition is to highlight the expression of contemporary art, and offer emerging and established artists alike a unique opportunity for international exposure.

  • 10,000 prize money, divided between the 3 winners.

  • For the 3 winners: an exceptional weekend at Château La Coste (2 nights + gourmet meals).

Located in the heart of Provence, Château La Coste is a center for contemporary art, featuring works by major international figures. It is in this unique setting that the finalists will have the opportunity to exhibit their creations and meet a public of art lovers and collectors.

A prestigious jury

The jury will be made up of influential figures from the art world:

  • Internationally renowned artists
  • Renowned art critics
  • Gallerists and curators active on the contemporary scene

The jury's mission: to select strong works, representative of today's major art trends.

The detailed composition of the jury will be announced shortly on this page and on our networks.

Competition themes

  • Africa in its universality - celebrating roots, heritage and vitality.
  • Embodying the Divine - exploring transcendence, the sacred and the many forms of spirituality.
  • Fragrance expression - translating the sensory power of a fragrance into shapes, colors and textures.

The three themes can be merged into a single work. An existing work can be proposed if it meets the criteria.

Competition schedule

Online submissions - until February 15, 2026.
Selection of 20 finalists - March 2026.
Official exhibition - May 2026, at Château La Coste.
Ceremony & announcement of the 3 winners - date to be announced.

Contest rules

  • Open to emerging and established artists of all nationalities.
  • Only one work per candidate.
  • Application file to be sent by e-mail in PDF format including :
    • Name of work (title).
    • One-word or one-sentence description (essence of the work).
    • Note of intent (max. 1 page).
    • HD visual of the work (or video extract if digital art).
    • Short biography (max. 1 page).

Painting / drawing / photo / digital print art

Max. dimensions 150 × 150 cm.

Sculpture

Max. dimensions 100 × 100 cm
Max. weight 36 kg.

Digital art (video, projection, digital creation)

Video: max. 5 min. - MP4 or MOV.
Possibility of sending a series of visuals (max. 5 images).
